How did Yakupov look?

Besides maybe one rush I didn't even notice him. Most of the Blues players were very engaged after the first 10 minutes but Yakupov was invisible for the most part.

Save percentage of a single game is not a fair indicator of anything really. Allen was very good last night.

Not surprised Bortuzzo gets a night off, he made a dreadful 100 foot cross-ice pass in his own end that was picked off at the blue line and ended up in the back of the net.

Damn Jammer I was writing in the wrong blog. lol

That bomb by Yakupov and the assist. Going to be a fourth rounder and a second round pick for a former first over all. The GM and assistant gms were laughing after that goal, with evil poop eating grins. That might cause Edmonton to fire yet another GM. Same Gm who was gifted Seguin and traded him for basically nothing but one decent season from a player who walked on them in free agency. That is ridiculous.

Yeah he was playing with a lot of nervousness it looked like. His second game you could see more confidence.

In his second game, first home game for the Blues he was named the number one star of the game. He scored a goal I described in another post. A BOMB!

This is what Brian Elliott has been telling himself all day.

I bet he is also saying to himself--I should have never requested a trade.

If the Blues roster is healthy what happens at forward?

MPS blew coverage--goal against. At the same time he did not choke at that great pass.

Berglund has been great. Lehtera has a knack. Stastny has been the best center.

Perron has done far more good than bad. Yakupov, if he starts getting confidence and comfortable with the system, man you almost have to consider playing him with either Fabbri or Schwartz. Or some of these guys start stealing time for Reaves who had an up and down game.

And going to have to replace Petro with Perron on the point for the number one pp.

Shattenkirk is taking too long with puck decisions.

I like this, nail is on pace. Only 4 more by the end of Nov and I think we will get that second.

not our greatest start, some sloppy 2nd period play followed by a bad 3rd but ill take the outcome.

Good to see Yakupov getting to know St Louis fans. Bad penalty by Perron…. Looks good to start even though we are not playing our best hockey

the more and more i watch Parayko the more i am impressed with him. Hopefully the defensive mistakes can come to an end but i see him dictating play which is great
EDIT:

Dictating coverage

Parayko is a gem, you guys really have a hell of a team and look like will probably be at the top of the Central this season. Congrats guys ! Hope the Hawks can be competitive enough to keep the rivalry interesting

It's hard to be visible playing 10 minutes. Hitch told the Post Disgrace that Yaks ice time should start to climb next week as he learns the Blues system.

He looks very hesitant out there, but I think that will change as he learns the system. He had a really great shift around 10 minutes into the 1st period, where he was flying around, made a great keep in and a great pass for a scoring chance. Then there was scrum in front of the net and he flew in to back up his teammates.

I think the Blues' system may bring out his best.

I agree. Ever since Dallas Eakins made Yak the scapegoat in Edmonton, it was downhill for Yak with the Oilers from there. I think with him playing in front of probably one the best d-corps in the league, his play should be much improved.

Yak looked better last night than the season opener. That bomb slapper was fantastic.

Perron has looked alot better than I imagined he would.

Our Powerplay looked elite for the most part.

Anyone else lose count how many twigs Parayko broke last night? good lord.

The issue with Paarvi has always been he plays very well when given a chance to get in the lineup but the disappears after about three games.

I think I platoon. Paarvi when you want speed and dress Jaskin when you want a bigger lineup based on your opponent.

Perron has been fine so far in his role, though he took a stupid penalty.

Memo to Parayko: please look into a new stick manufacturer.

MPS has confidence issues. But otherwise I agree. One of Parayko's broken sticks was due to a slash. But geesh every poop he took. He might want to look into a wooden stick.

Yeah Perron took a stupid penalty. But otherwise he has been solid. Looks like he has some slight conditioning issues. But he knows where to go and what needs to be done. Once or twice I was hoping he would hold onto the puck and create time and space down low for Tarasenko and Lehtera. But you can see the difference in his game when he recognizes he needs to move the ouck quickly.

Shattenkirk needs to be more decisive with the puck. He was beginning to look like Brewer out there.

Our pp was crap last night, we gave up a shorthanded breakaway during the 1st pp, did not have zone coverage until the 3rd pp in the 3rd.

Parayko broke at least 2 on shots goes to show you how strong he is

He uses only a 65 flex as big as he is and playing defense??? I used for a while a forty something flex and it was fun. But when I would defense I never used it because it would bend back during puck battles. But that super flex the shots you can make...damn!!
